It was late in the evening and the sun's heat was dying down. Although, it was still quite hot outside. Schven watch gracefully, with a contradicting smug look on his face. It seems to have been a little over two days since he has eaten; however, he is holding up fine. He has adapted to the scarce food supply. It was a bitter existence in the city.
A large, apparently damaged building was coming into view. Schven did not observe it very much, but he could easily see broken glass, mold and broken dreams from the corner of his eye. The building did not seem to be in good shape, almost completely dangerous on the inside. This, however, did not sway Schven from heading closer to it. He almost wanted to explore, but he would not personally call it that. Once he came closer, the lingering scent of other dog that almost said this is mine was inhaled through his nostrils. Schven took this as an invitation. Where there are dogs there is food.
Schven stepped lightly and put good effort in avoiding the glass shards. He leaped through the windows, sustained small scrapes from the glass. The building looked more rotted on the inside than it did on the outside. With that thought gone, however, Schven pressed on. There was a long hallway ahead of him, it was almost never ending. It intersected with other hallways; it seemed to be a maze. Schven slowly walked, stopping to look down every hallway that he had passed.
The scent of dog seemed to get stronger as he went deeper and deeper into the ominous building. He passed several rooms as he walked through the halls, noticing the ravaged rooms filled with glass, sharp tools and some bodily fluid stains. This place was full of dark secrets, Schven inquired. The building creaked quietly, making Schven feel a little less comfortable being inside the building. He stood still and silent to avoid stirring the building anymore. OOC: Yay this is decent!

Yesterday had been absolutely awful for Lazko. He had absolutely no idea where to go or what to do with himself. For the last twenty four hours he had simply been wandering and attempting to hide. His jaw hung slack, panting from the mere effort it took to hop around on three legs. Flies swarmed at his leg, causing him to awkwardly throw it out in front of him with a shake. Their constant torment was never-ending. The moment he shook them off, they'd buzz a circle for a moment and come back, attracted to the dried blood and oozing liquids that had dried over his leg.
Occasionally a passing human would give him a pitied look; immediately he would shy away in some pathetic attempt to run on three legs that were already awkward in their length. He was like a dog trying to balance on a set of stilts, only one of the stilts was broken. To anyone who knew the city—human or dog alike—it was likely to be immediately obvious what his fate had been. The many small, but still visible scars that lined his legs up and down, like many of the downtrodden and hopeless humans own arms, came not from himself or from any series of accidents. These scars coupled with his ripped ear and absolutely terrified demeanor told all anyone seemed to need to know about his life.
He carried on, eyes to the ground, leg shaking every few strides. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Nothing changes. He looked to the flies as they returned again. Nothing changes. In his view was the Calvary Hospital. He remembered little to nothing about this place and hadn't really planned on ending up here, but it looked like one of the most deserted places he could have hoped to find. He could try to seek out shelter here, he supposed—though he wasn't sure why. Exhaustion, dehydration, and blood loss had lead him to be pessimistic about simply existing. At this point, nothing seemed to matter. Everything seemed more like auto-pilot. This had been Lazko's life; turning on auto-pilot and trying to simply fly away to somewhere else.
Everything in here smelt terrible to him. There was the stench of death, of ash and of rotting wood that had once been damp and now was coated in the scent of mold and mildew. The air was somewhat cooler compared to outside simply due to the fact that the sun was not beating down on him, but it still felt too warm and too muggy, which made the musty old smell seem even worse. It almost made him nauseous—though this could have been a result of his current health as well, he supposed.
The wiry dog didn't spend much time looking around the place, instead opting to find somewhere secluded to curl up and lick his wounds. At least the number of flies had gone down, he thought to himself with the smallest amount of optimism. In a corner of an exam room, next to an overturned and scorched metal cart, the once silver metal completely black with soot and ash, he laid down and curled into himself.
Tomorrow would likely be no better.

How many intruders in one day did she have to deal with? Gray had heard them from her own special room and stepped out into the hall (albeit apprehensively), looking around carefully. Her ears swivelled, laying back and then coming up again as she padded further down the hall, stopping occasionally to listen and look some more.
It was lonesome in the hospital when one was all by themself, so Gray was not exactly unwelcoming, but she had to be cautious in case these dogs' intentions were less than admirable. It was difficult to tell where the other dogs were because of the dozens of smells that filled the entire hospital. She was wandering, rather fruitless, through the corridors and checking random rooms for the intruders. Unfortunately, she couldn't find anyone, even when she broke through a rotten, moldy floorboard nothing stirred. Becoming frustrated with her inability to get help in finding the trespassers, she stopped, gave one more good look around the area and then began a series of barks that eventually transformed into one, long, resounding howl. If that didn't draw them in, Gray would give up.
{ooc} oh my god, forgive the suckness of this. i feel like i haven't actually role played in a decade.

The structure was weak, charred and abandoned. It was quite a bit uninteresting to Schven, counting that he is rarely interested in something so materialistic. His ears picked up a quiet sound of movement at bay that seemed to echo quietly. The assumptions of the source of the scents were proven correct; Schven also expected this entire building to be a territory. Schven slowly began to walk more, with a less than graceful slump. The place must be gigantic if he had not seen a single trace of the pack nearby. Schven began to wonder if they may be hiding, watching him vigilantly and judging whether if his intrusion will lead to punishment or not. It was an extreme thought and it managed to make its way to Schven. He was coaxed to checking a room nearby the hallway for a possible pack dog or whatever he may find of the sort.
He stepped through the frame of the door, hovering his nose over the ground and inhaling the scents. It did not seem like there was anyone in the room accept for the long since abandoned medical tools, soot, ash and human technology. Schven could not imagine this hospital having any success or promise in the past. Way, way into the past.
Schven observed the hospital room further to notice a human bed tipped over, laying on its side; a television, presumably once mounted on the wall, leaning against a corner with a cracked, dusty screen; large, apparent glass shards in the center of the room, likely from the lights on the ceiling; medical tools scattered carelessly on the counter tops and floors; and some evident rotting and mold on almost all four walls. It was a pathetic sight and it was only one room of the hospital, there were probably much more like it or worse; however, with all the hundreds of rooms, there may in a room in decent condition. There must be a reason why other dogs would live here.
Schven quickly strode out of the room and continued down the hallway. He glanced into the rooms he slowly passed by and their condition were alike to the room he had explored. Every room was piteous. The conditions were piteous. It was all just piteous. Schven groaned in disgust. Although, it seemed to be a perfect place for a pack. There was a lot of ground to cover if there were threats approaching the pack, it did not lure too many dogs due to the grotesque condition the building was in and it was very private and secluded inside the building. Schven could not help but be curious about the pack that is assumed to be deep inside the hospital. It would be the first dog pack he would ever approach. He wanted to observe how it was managed and if being in a pack would aid your chances of survival. He may even consider joining it if it was not too crowded or if it was not full of heartless simpletons with a tyrannous leader bent on its own survival by using it by using its subordinates for personal gain.
Suddenly, Schven's attention was attracted to a series of barks echoing through the building. He instantly became interested, expecting the vocalizations to be coming from the pack he was oh so curious about. He began to follow the sound, quickly turning corners and jogging down hallways as he listened to the noise. The series of barks soon transformed into a long howl. Lucky for Schven, too, since it was much easier to follow.
The sounds ended, and Schven had not found the source yet. Although, he had a hunch on where the pack may be. He knew the sound came from very near, possibly just behind the corner he was heading towards. He emitted a small series of breathy barks that could be heard in the immediate area. This was to keep whoever made the noise where they were so he could find them.
He turned the corner.
Not to far down the hallway before Schven was the skinny figure of another dog. As Schven slowly walked closer, he could easily notice some more of the dog's features. It seemed quite a bit wolf-like in its own manner and its coat was obviously gray. Schven stopped in his tracks, about a few meters away from the other dog. He looked alert and almost noble in his stance. Almost. He was impatient, and he would not allow himself to be as rude to wait for the dog to notice him and start a conversation of ignore each other. That seemed much to arrogant to suit Schven's personality. "Excuse me," he said in a casual tone, pausing to allow a few seconds for her attention to be swayed to him, "Would you by chance know if a pack resides in this building?" 840 words How the fuck Did this happen

Gray just shy of jumped out of her skin when the dog suddenly appeared. Her ears fell back for a moment and she took a step backward. This was not how an alpha was supposed to act and she knew it, but she also couldn't suddenly change to be confident and smart-mouthed like other pack leaders she'd met in her life. Right now, though, without anyone to speak for her she would have to get over her fears and address dogs on her own.
The wolf-mix straightened up a bit, raising her ears and planted her thin paws firmly on the unsteady ground. Her head and tail lifted and Gray tried to appear confident where inside she was quivering with nerves. "Y-yes," She coughed and cleared her throat, running her tongue across her lips. She lowered her muzzle for a moment, dropping her gaze and then lifting it as she tried speaking again. "Yes, a pack resides here. I am the alpha. My name is Gray." She said in a voice she thought was strong and confident. Her whiskey-brown eyes stared at the dog keenly, gauging his reaction to this statement but now she realized that this was not the only dog she'd heard. She knew there had been two sets of pawsteps entering the hospital and she was looking at the one. So where was the other?
{ooc} thank you for being patient with me guys e_e it's getting better. slowly but surely.

It seems that Schven's sudden appearance had startled the girl. Her ears fell back and she took a step backward. Schven stood his ground, not going any closer as to make her feel uncomfortable. The girl acted as if Schven was a ghost or something; however he would not blame her, this place looked gruesome enough from the inside out.
Suddenly, the girl began to shape herself up. Her stance was an uneasy mix confidence and nervousness, this Schven could easily tell. "Y-yes," coughed the girl, obviously clearing her throat. Her lowered her head and stared at the ground for a few moments before lifting her head again to say: "Yes, a pack resides here. I am the alpha. My name is Gray." This came as a surprise to Schven, his first impression of her did not begin to have any evidence of a leader's demeanor; however, he came to admire the fact that she was a leader. She was genuine, unique and unpredictable. He surely did not picture a leader this way; this was a good thing.
"Remarkable," he said simply, with some obvious interest. "Where are your subordinates? Patrolling the building I suppose, hm?" His interest in the pack certainly surprised even himself, he would usually ask one question and then continue with his own business. It must of had something to do with the building. He let himself relax, sitting down in the spot he had stood in. He hoped that settling down would not offend the alpha, as this was her territory. Fuck, I'm drained of RP want today.
