Name: Maya
Alias: N/A
Gender: Female.
Age: 4
Birthdate: November 15, 2127
Species: Dog.
Breed: Golden Retriever x English Pointer
Purebred: No.
Pack: Loner.
Height: 24 inches
Weight: 55 pounds
Build: Maya's build is closer to that of an English pointer rather than a golden retriever. When it comes to height and weight she is a medium sized dog. With a lithe, thin, and compact body and long muscled legs, she finds herself to be a natural hunter. As such she is not greatly underweight. When campared, she has very muscular hindlegs, which reflects upon her gait. Her paws are like that of her retriever side, round with thick pads. As for her tail it is long with a thick base that quickly thins to the end.
Coat: Colored like that of soft honey, she has a double layered coat that reflects upon her retriever heritage. The first layer is waterproof while the top layer is (when well fed) soft and fluffy. While mosly solid, her hair whitens as it reaches her legs, underbelly, tail, and throat. Her hair is just a bit shorter that of a pureblooded golden retriever and doesn't feather on her legs or belly. Rather, it tends to flatten closer to the skin. She still has some feathering along her tail and jawline, though it isn't very prominate.
Head: Her head is a square shape and rather wide with defined cheeks. The muzzle is long and of medium width. She has floppy ears that end at the jawline. Her nose is a light brown, nearly flesh color.
Eyes: Maya's eyes are round and large. The have a very dark brown color.
Scars: One small thin scar on her side from slipping through a broken, rusted fence. Not very noticeable.
Accessories: None
Pictures: None
Speed: High.
Stamina: Above average.
Strength: Below average.
Fighting: Low.
Strengths: * Fast
* Good hunter
* Intelligent
* Independant
Weaknesses: * Weak fighter
* Untrusting of others
* Unused to communicating with others
Personality: In one word her personality is eccentric. With a habit of collecting odd bits and pieces of leftover human items and storing them in an abandoned house, her personality is what wouldn't be considered normal by most dogs. Not that she minds very much. She realized she was different a while ago, plus she tends to avoid other dogs. Her mother had drilled into her head how dangerous others could be, what with it being a literally dog eat dog world. Not that she eats other dogs. She tends to prefer rats, rodents, cats, and the occasional deceased human as her main diet.
When she first meets others she is very skeptical and untrusting of them, and she tends to choose to flee instead of fight. When she is thoroughly convinced that they won't try to hurt her, she is highly curious about them and will ask them many questions about themselves in an attempt to know more about them. When she begins to trust them, she will show her friendship by giving them an item from her pile of stuff. When it comes to love, she is a bit oblivious. It would take a lot of effort on a suitor's part to get his feelings across.
Over all she is a very positive, up beat type of dog. However, other than somewhat pretty appearance she is unnoticeable, as she tries to be. She tends to prefer to remain rather unnoticed.
Fears: Being attacked and eaten by others dogs. She is very scared of dogs larger than her.
Also scared of losing her entire pile of stuff.
Family: Mother - - -> English Setter, Olivia, alive
Father - - -> Golden Retriever, Baron, alive
Siblings - - -> One brother, Tad, deceased. A second litter of half siblings, names unknown, state unknown
History: Maya and Tad were the result of a quick fling between two strays during a chance meeting. Her mom was in heat, he was a healthy male.. you get the picture. Her mother of course thought it was a bit more than a fling. She was convinced they were soulmates, meant to be together forever. So when he didn't stick around longer than a few weeks she was bitterly upset. She began to hate the idea of loving or depending on another canine. When she had her litter, she wished she could protect her two surviving pups from the hurt she received. So she may have told her children from the day they were born that other dogs were bad, evil, and out to get them. Just a little lie, right? Well, no. Because of that both of her children didn't talk to or communicate with anyone outside of their family.
Soon her mother, after about a year, felt herself swept up into a new romance, this time with a handsome mutt of some kind. When she found herself pregnant with a second litter, she decided she didn't need to care for Maya or Tad any longer, so after teaching them the basics of hunting and survival she sent them on their merry way. Maya and her brother weren't thrilled. Sticking together seemed to be the only choice for the duo, as the world was full of enemy dogs around every corner. They managed to get by for about a year when her brother began to show signs of an illness. It became harder for him to hunt and go long distances to find food. Maya found herself hunting for both of them. She hated to leave her brother in his weakened state, but she knew neither of them would survive long without ample food. After hunting for the majority of the day she had found her brother dead. He had succumbed to the illness and died without any medical attention.When she arrived he was already being eaten by rats.
From that moment Maya was on her own in the world. It was also then when she started collecting items, probably to fill the void left by the death of her brother.

Role Play Sample: This place was fantastic, simply fantastic. Sure the creaking of no longer well maintained rides filled the air, rodent infested concession stands no longer offered food, and there seemed to be no one in sight, but the things she found were always so fascinating. She often came her when she felt the need for some more stuff. The humans had abandoned a whole lot of it right here in the middle of a.. circus? She thought that was what she heard being called. Anyways, back to the stuff! Already she had found something to add to her pile. A beach ball that had once been full of air (it seemed to have been the prize of some game or another) hung popped in her mouth, reduced to a sad, deflated flap of plastic. Maybe it would have been better to roll it. She hadn't realized that her sharp teeth would destroy it so easily. Cheap circus prizes. Oh well, it was still something after all. And she did enjoy finding "somethings"
The English Setter glanced around, skinny tail wagging with the simple happiness she was enjoying at that very moment. If only she could come to places like this all the time. If only she didn't have to hunt. If only it didn't take her so long to find hunting grounds that weren't in some nasty pack's territory. Nowadays dogs were very possessive, what with rival packs always battling for each other's land. Well, being a loner did have it perks. She simply enjoyed not being crowded in with a bunch of other dogs, some of which she did not doubt were terrifyingly scary. Her mother wasn't right about a lot of things, but when it came to trusting the character of other dogs she using hit the nail right on its head! Or so she thought. She didn't really go out of her way to associate with others. The female dog shook her black splashed head. No negative thoughts, no negativeness. POSITIVITY!
Alright, that was much better. Usually she was positive, but everyone sinks into becoming a negative Nelly every once in a while, right? It didn't take much to put her back in a good mood though. Maya smiled to herself. Alright, now to grab a few more items. Then she could head back home before she ran into some other company. She needed to get to a higher spot though.. Aha! There! She ran in a loping gait until she was at a bench, jumping up onto the rickety support. Goodness! She could very well fall! It wasn't too far to the ground though. She should be safe. From the short distance above the ground she scoured the old fair grounds for any interesting items.
